PROGRAMS OF FPHC

REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH
Reproductive health ensures that people can have a satisfying and safe sex life, they are capable of reproducing and have the freedom to take a decision regarding when and how often to perform it.
Frontier Primary Health Care has ensured active service provision, mass communication, awareness raising, and capacity-building services on Ante-Natal Care, Post Natal Care, Sexually Transmitted Diseases, Adolescent Reproductive Health, and Mother and Child Health issues.
BASIC EMERGENCY OBSTETRIC AND NEWBORN CARE
Basic Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care (EmONC) is critical to reducing maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality. This care can be provided by skilled staff in health centers, large or small.
Frontier Primary Health Care specializes in developing Basic EmONC centers and working its way towards sustainability. FPHC has developed many Basic EmONC centers providing round-the-clock essential obstetric care, emergency care, essential newborn care, and referral services with all the WHO recommended guidelines being followed.

DIAGNOSTIC AND CURATIVE
The purpose of curative care is to treat a disease or promote recovery from an illness, injury, or impairment. It can be provided in a hospital or at home. Services include physician and nursing care, surgery, medications, and therapies.
Frontier Primary Health Care has been providing Diagnostic and Curative Services to the community as it is one of the pillars of Primary Health Care. The Health centers run by FPHC in several districts of KP provide outpatient, basic diagnostic, curative and laboratory services to the community.
PREVENTIVE PROGRAMMES
There is a prevailing misconception that prohibits people from seeking medical aid till nothing happens. Most people opt for doctor visits only when they are utterly sick. People should go for regular health checks, even when they think they are healthy. FPHC has worked tirelessly to ingrain this concept into the minds of the community members using the tools of social mobilization and health education. FPHC has worked in various capacities in multiple preventive programs aimed at controlling or eliminating infectious diseases with a major global burden such as AIDS, Hepatitis, Malaria, Dengue, Tuberculosis, Leishmania, COVID-19, etc. FPHC has played an active role in the routine EPI program throughout the years as well. As a result of the social mobilization and health promotive activities through its network of community workers/ volunteer, the health-seeking behaviors and practices of the community with regards to a myriad of health topics pertaining both communicable and non-communicable diseases have been improved.

NUTRITION
FPHC has worked in its target areas on all the components of Primary Health Care (PHC) as suggested in the Policy of comprehensive PHC. For lower and middle-income countries like Pakistan, it is difficult to run comprehensive PHC programs. To bridge this gap, a strategy of selective PHC was adopted which focuses on individual/selected components of PHC. FPHC has worked on Nutrition in different districts of KP and areas of Ex-FATA consisting of supplementary feeding programs, outpatient therapeutic programs, and Infant and young child feeding (IYCF).
HEALTH EDUCATION
Health education programs help empower individuals and communities to live healthier lives by improving their physical, mental, emotional, and social health by increasing their knowledge and influencing their attitudes about caring for their well-being.
Frontier Primary Health Care has deep connections with the community through its extensive team of Community Volunteers. FPHC has been actively involved in Health Promotion/Education of the community through active outreach and demonstration services.
